Medical Weight Management Service
Clare Connolly Aesthetics Clinic is a nurse-led, independent medical weight management clinic providing holistic, evidence-based interventions for adults (age 18–65 and 65+) living with overweight and obesity. The clinic is based in Wakefield and run solely by Clare Connolly, an experienced Independent Nurse Prescriber with over 25 years of clinical experience.
The service operates under the regulated activity: Treatment of Disease, Disorder or Injury, and complies with all applicable statutory requirements, including those set out by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and relevant clinical guidance such as NICE NG7.
To deliver safe, patient-centred care that addresses overweight and obesity using clinical assessments, lifestyle interventions, and prescribing when appropriate.
To maintain high standards of clinical governance, documentation, and risk assessment.
To provide care that is effective, sustainable, and tailored to individual needs.
To offer compassionate support and motivational guidance to empower long-term health behaviour change.
To continually evaluate and improve practice through patient feedback, audit, and clinical supervision.
The clinic provides:
Comprehensive medical and lifestyle assessments for weight management
GLP-1 prescribing (Wegovy®, Mounjaro®) in line with national guidance
Nutritional and behavioural support, including motivational interviewing
Ongoing monitoring of BMI, blood pressure, waist circumference, and outcomes
Signposting to allied professionals or GPs for additional clinical needs
The service is available to adults aged 18 to 75, who meet the following clinical criteria:
Please note: Patients with unmanaged mental health concerns, eating disorders, or complex comorbidities outside the service scope will be safely signposted to appropriate NHS or private providers.
The clinic is operated from a secure, private home-based setting in Wakefield. All services are delivered face-to-face or remotely depending on clinical appropriateness and patient preference. No treatments are offered in community settings or by third parties.
Regular clinical supervision, audit cycles, and adherence to NICE guidance ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery.
All treatment protocols are grounded in current clinical evidence, including NICE NG7 guidelines for weight management.
Clare maintains up-to-date knowledge through ongoing CPD, specialist training, and engagement with professional bodies.
Anonymous patient satisfaction surveys and direct feedback mechanisms are used to continuously improve the service.

All records are securely maintained using encrypted digital systems, in accordance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. There are no paper records stored on-site. Patients are informed of how their data is handled, and consent is recorded prior to treatment.
A complaints policy is in place, and all complaints are acknowledged within 48 hours. A learning and improvement framework is used to review concerns and implement service adjustments where necessary. Anonymous patient feedback is actively encouraged through digital surveys.
